How do I repair a plastic electrical box that sticks out past the drywall?

Many of the switch/outlet boxes in my house protrude beyond the drywall surface, hence the faceplates are not flush with the drywall. It’s driving my wife nuts! Any suggestions to prevent this?

What is the best way to hang shelves on drywall that can support a lot of weight?

What is the hardware called that holds a ***** in drywall?

Im installing towel hangers in my bathroom. I am having trouble with installing this because the screws dont hold well in the drywall and because of the distance between screws you cant always hit a stud.

What do you do when drywall gets wet?

There are cracks outside on the stucco wall, above the windows. The rain has been coming through for some time and the plaster inside has come down. Once the plaster was scraped down, you could see inside to the drywall, about a 6 inch square. Do you just plaster over this or is it advisable to change the drywall?

Also, what kind of caulking do you recommend to seal the cracks outside on the stucco?

Do I need to place drywall behind new shower?

Can you paint on the paper surface of drywall?

How to repair drywall/how much does drywall cost?

Some buddies of mine put their collective stupidity to use; they managed to make a 6in by 5 in hole in my wall. So, now i have to fix it before my roommate gets pissed. I’ve got no idea on how to do this, and i have a limited amount of tools, screws, some wood, a circular saw, a drill, utility knives, that kind of thing, no jig saw or anything like that. Also, how much should i expect to pay for drywall, does it only come in massive sheets, or can i find a little one foot by one foot board?

Can I mix paint in with my drywall mud for ceiling texture?

I am doing a drywall project for someone. It is a fixer-up house. When I do the ceiling texture, he has requested that I mix in paint with the texture so that he does not have to paint it later.

My question is, if I am doing a knock-down texture, will the mud still knock down right with the paint in it? If not, he also said I could do an orange peel texture on the ceiling. Am I able to mix paint in with m y mud and do any orange peel?

If I am able to mix the paint in with my mud, how much paint do I mix in?

Thanks in advance for your help. I have been doing drywall finishing for 5 years. I am 24 years of age.

Use sandpaper or drywall screen for sanding joint compound?
