Drywall Experts – How Much should having someone fix this ***** in ceiling, Cost me?

Independent_guy asked:

To have a drywall person or handyman do the following (required due to ***** in the ceiling):

- replace 1 or 2 damaged drywalls at ceiling
- replace wet insulation and vapor barrier
- skim coat and paint ceiling in dining room.
- supply and install drip edge on south side of apartment. (this I believe was the
cause of the problem – not having a drip edge AND not removing snow from roof
causing ice backup)

Location: Ontario, Canada.

$250?
$500?
$1000?

Please be honest and realistic as possible. THANKS.

Which is cheaper? Drywall v.s. Sliding Door?

We are thinking about bushing out few drywalls by ourself and create new wall by the professional. Firstly, we thought about installing new drywall but I thought installing the sliding door might be cheaper. We are planning to make a closet behind a wall, so sliding door works as well. Sliding door needs to be from the ceiling to the floor.

I know that I can check the contractor or the remodeling company to get the estimate, but these people can say whatever to make more money unless they are really honest. So I wanted to see which is cheaper in general from real people on here. Thanks!
Thank you everyone for your info!
