I am wanting to hang a roughly 10lb picture. However, to be center, it only goes into drywall and not studs. Will this destroy the drywall?

holes in drywall to run romex?
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009Is there any way to drill holes in studs/top plates/floor plates without having to put such a big hole in the drywall?
The only way I know to do this is first cut a big enough hole to to be able to fit my hole hawg and auger bit in order to drill the hole.
Homeowners always ***** (why do you have to cut the hole so big?!!!).Is there anyway to avoid cutting large holes in the drywall in order to accomplish drilling the holes to run romex

should i take down drywall after treating home for termites?
Saturday, September 19th, 2009My house is being treated for termites. The infestation is evidently in the front wall and entryway of my home. The termite inspector from orkin advised me that I don’t have to tear out all the drywall, but I am afraid the studs or sill may be damaged. Is there any way to assess damage like that without tearing it all out?
How much weight can drywall hold without the use of studs (walls ceiling)?
Sunday, September 13th, 2009Our house has a drywall ceiling, and studs are not close to where the chandelier needs to be hanged. It is not that heavy (8 pounds max)
How much weight can the drywall actually support?
I have the butterfly anchors made for drywall, yet I’m very hesitant about the drywall’s support.
Thank you
What do I do with capped off wires behind drywall?
Tuesday, September 1st, 2009I bought a fixer upper and found some odd electrical issues.
Behind some drywall are some wires that lead no where. They are just hanging in there behind the wall capped off by wire nuts.
There are located between 2 studs in a gap that might be big enough for one single gang box. My question is…..what do I do. I am not going to use the power so can I just drywall over them? Or do I have to put them in a box?
Any help would be appreciated.
Any reason why I shouldn’t put drywall over wood paneling?
Saturday, August 29th, 2009I own a 1930’s farm house. The whole place was updated in the 50’s with that cheap looking office paneling. It’s in perfect shape but I don’t like it. I’m thinking of textured drywall and wondering if there’s anything wrong with pulling all the trim and sockets and putting drywall right on top.
That’s opposed to stripping the walls down to studs and drywalling, which would be a monumental task.
