a sledge hammer
usually water mixed with vinegar does the trick, or rent a steamer
I just had this problem. If you’re using the spray on DIF forget it. Buy the concetrated stuff and mix it with the hot water. I’m having some difficulty with one of the bathrooms as it’s not cooperating so it’s more labor intensive. For the most part when I used the concetrated DIF even with cool water, the stuff is coming off like wet toilet paper.
I thicker putty knife works better then a flexible one, but more then likely you’re just going to have to go back and repair the gouges when you’re done.
Good luck.
Hot steam seems to do the trick most of the time. You can use a steamer or if you don’t have or can’t get one you can use an iron that allows steam. Keep the iron about 1/4 inch from the wall and steam away… hopefully it should pull right off after the steam.
just paint over the wallpaper, thats what I did. it turned out great. or you can use cat urine
Have you tried a heat gun. Blowing hot air over the surface of the wallpaper may help to remove it.
try hot water and a little Downy fabric softener in a spray bottle ,remove top layer of paper then spray wait 5 minutes and start scraping, it will come off.put a towel along baseboard to catch drips
Warm water and liquid dishwashing detergent in a spray bottle has worked the best for me. Score the wall paper, spray it… wait about 5 minutes and use a scraper to remove the first layer (the skin of the wall paper). Spray again, and scrape the remaining layer off. That DIF takes 10 times as long, and is 10 times as expensive…. I used Dawn.
shooter knows what he is talking about. But its perforating the paper, You use a inexpensive tool called a gator are just ask for a wall paper perpetrator. Its about 8 bucks.
I had the same problem-I used the scoring tool lightly than applied warm water from a spray bottle (in small sections) and just kept peeling it off. Be generous with the warm water bottle. I also used a plastic butter knife to help loosen the edges and pull off bigger pieces. I let the wall dry for 3 days after wards and then used spackle to fill in any gorges or imperfections on the wall. Then primed it with 2 coats. Hope this helps. Good Luck
